Daum can and will, in its effort to root out illegal spam,
engage in legal actions for damages that, (according to the 'Information & Communication Network Law', violators accused of transmitting illeagal advertising e-mails, could serve up to 1 year in jail and be fined up to 10 million won and violators accused of interfering with business could serve a maximum term of 5 years in prison and fined up to 15 millon won.)
Daum has incurred against,
1) Users who transmit spam that is not in accordance with sound communication and community activities;
2) Users that transmit spam using "ID creating robots", along with the manufacturers of such "robots".


1. Daum : Not an Anonymous Email Service.
At Daum, the registered Name are sent with each email.
Additionally, all logins, including IP numbers, dates and times are recorded and stored.
Therefore all source of a message can be traced.

2. Daum : No Spamming.
We don't want our users being the victims of junk email. We are equally intolerant of Hanmail.Net users sending junk email. Sending junk email from a Hanmail.Net account is cause for that account's termination.

3. Daum : Don't use Hanmail.Net as relay server and return address.
Hanmail.Net doesn't permit to use Hanmail.Net as relay server, so never try to.
Additionally, we don't want to get any returned mail using spam. We will do any legal treatment to those who use Hanmail.Net as their return address when they write spam mail.

4. The following is extracted from the Daum Terms of Service Agreement entered with each subscriber.

If you receive any junk email please forward it with your comments to spamcenter.

6. The following is regarded as spam.
1) Unsolicited Commercial e-mail sended in bulk without agrrement of receiver.
2) E-mail including sexual and unhealthy contents.
3) Junk e-mail such as "Loan advertising", "Chain Letters" and "Pyramid Schemes".
4) E-mail represented oneself falsely to be a supervisor
5) E-mail set afloat false statements.
6) "Fishing e-mail" for the purpose of stealing personal information.
7) E-mail sended in quantity from IP that we can't confirm.
8) E-mail reported in abundance to spam-mail and recognized to spam-mail objectively.
